Reliable cable infrastructure plays a critical role in today’s landscape. Megger plays a critical role in helping you avoid service interruptions. That’s because Megger’s cable testers find faults other devices can’t detect — whether it’s damage to the cable, workmanship failures, or cable deterioration — helping you reduce costs and maximise the security of your supply. Our experience in testing, knowledge of cables, and cable test methods fuel our designs, resulting in the most efficient solutions and best-in-class performance.
Description
Megger PFL22M1500 Cable Fault Locating
- A TDR uses impulse current (ICE), arc reflection, and pulse echo to pre-locate cable defects. The operator is guided through the fault locating process by the MTDR 100’s auto-ranging, auto distance to fault, and operator assist capabilities.
- Faults are stabilized in the Arc reflection mode by constructing a makeshift “bridge” to the earth. A typical pulse echo measurement is made under these circumstances, which are essentially interpreted as short circuit faults.
- The ability to see and analyze up to 1024 traces (range dependant) taken during the arc period is an additional benefit that Arc Reflection Plus offers the operator.
- Unwanted and confusing reflections are eliminated during differential arc reflection mode, providing a clean trace with only the fault position and point shown by a positive pulse. This technique works particularly well for identifying high-resistance defects in intricate cable networks.
FEATURES AND BENEFITS
Innovative MTDRl 00 mounted in the lid features:
- Single knob Qog-dial) control
- Large easy-to-view color (XGA) display
- Auto ranging
- Cable library
Multiple fault loca ing techniques:
- Pre-location
- Pulse echo
- Arc reflection
- Arc reflection plus
- Differential arc reflection
- Impulse current
Pinpoint:
- Surge/voltage impulse
High-voltage module:
- 2-range
